The significance of Richard Parker in The Life of Pi

Would Pi have survived if there wasn't any Richard Parker?



No. It's a paradox, if you think about it.  It's like the common saying "When you help others you help yourself". Keeping himself away from the tiger and at the same time trying to keep Richard Parker alive drew most of Pi's attention away from the fact that he might never leave the hazardous sea.

Even if Pi did survive without the tiger, he wouldn't be sane.


Can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. :p Was just ruminating about how to give someone hope or at least, to steer their focus away from their troubles when I thought of this.

Positivity Desiderata

Hmm..all in good time I guess. Not as productive as I thought, but I'm progressing albeit slowly, but indubitably surely. Stay focused. Adopt positivity.

Does everything in Life Happen because it needed to happen? Thought of the Week. 

Thetan. A thetan is the term for the source of Life, based on Scientology. Some transcendental being or understanding revolving around the whole universe. What are the rules of life? Sure, life is unpredictable, but not unanalyzable. I'm not a Nazi or anything, but was wondering, could the Jews have invented something that could have caused an apocalypse? We should know that technology shouldn't make advancements that our maturity can't handle. 

But anyway, I don't want to get involved in politics and history and all those sensitive contingencies  and the likes. So I apologize if anyone is offended by the above post ^. I'm just using that as an example to the question I was asking, applying the Chaotic Attractor and such. You know, like if Abraham Lincoln didn't succeed in freeing the slaves, another person would have came along and did what needed to be done, wouldn't they?

Then there's the multiverse theory. If we integrate that theory to the problem asked, among other solutions, I think we'd have something gold.
Btw, I believe in God.

How silly of me!! {Deleted my previous story outline post}

oh gosh how silly of me. I just posted a huge spoiler lol.

 I was working on my book a little today when it hit me that anyone who read my post already know the ending ;l

Haha!! So I deleted it. However, there will be major changes and plenty of added content so well I guess it's all right. And I mean MAJOR changes.

The Evolution of Characters in Gaming

Hey remember when video games were thought of as nothing more than a child's hobby? This idea was only reinforced by the immaturity of the industry, as it was constantly bombarding us with busty women who's character were that of a simple baboon wearing two pieces that shouldn't even be called "clothing". Unfortunately, though not surprisingly, these overrated women always draw more attention than the occasionally well designed and far more interesting female characters who wear actual clothes and aren't so weirdly proportioned. 

Oh well...

Also, after the eminent disappointment of finding out that broShep was going to take central stage instead of femShep in the upcoming Mass Effect movie, I'm just saying, I'm sure we'll all a little tired of white guys with hardly any difference in their personality and looks being the main protagonists of video games (and movies, for that matter).

I can't wait for THAT. Reminds me a little of The Walking Dead, though.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not picky about video game protagonists. But after years of gaming, we do expect a little improvements in character development. We don't wanna feel like we're playing the same guy in every game right? Tough white guy with hard outer shell and tender inner flesh. Topped with the buzz cut that suddenly made it's appearance everywhere.

Just a side note, next time anyone makes a game, please give your character some distinct and unique hair. Also, with the ever increasing population of female gamers, big busted shallow babes who sound like pikachu and wear skimpy outfits shouldn't be encouraged. (Unless it's some sidelines sorta character.)

New Year Resolution

Excuse me for this out of topic post..but I guess it's necessary. I'm just going to let it act as a reminder to me for awhile.

A'ight so for the year 2013, I 'll **crosses fingers**

-Be a better person..no specifications here haha.

-Get a job

-Score flying colors for my test(the one happening this year end, the rest are just blegh)

-Grasp the Maya and Photoshop software

-Get a storyboard done

-Make longer animations in a shorter amount of time

-Learn the guitar -hopefully a little piano too-

-Improve on art and writing

Yeah that's about it I guess.

..OPPS I almost forgot,

-Go To Bed Earlier!!! 

I always go to bed at 3 am...and now there's this weird pain ouch okay I gotta go for a checkup and definitely improve my lamentable lifestyle. Yup, that and...

 I gotta take care of my Sugar Glider..poor thing-- the cage really smells at the moment yeah guess I'm kind of a shitty pet owner :( I'll improve don't call the SPCA!! it's SPCA, right? .... ;0

Deep stories are essential to a video game

Sorry for my little hiatus but I'm active again. Did anyone play Mass Effect 3? Great tragic story with great tragic ending of a memorable tragic hero :) Really good. Though in my humble opinion, could be better, but I'm okay with what I have. (Actually I'm not...Shepard died so that the reapers could live :( )
     A great story is imperative to every video game. Nowadays video games affect society almost as much as movies do. A video game which boasts a strong plot that delivers the message of the developer/ designer/ writer is becoming increasingly common in the industry. This is because we evolve. I for one remember a time when video games with mindless action and shooting with weak laughable plots (or none at all) dominated the industry, and I'm so glad that this trend is finally going extinct.
     All my life I've always love a great story. I'm so glad I can finally find my sources in somewhere else now. Last time it was just books, and maybe some movies, or serene pictures -in which I can let my imagination flow to give that captured scene a story- now even gaming has become such a beautiful art.
     But anyway, back to why good stories in video games are important. First of all, no doubt that the prices of each video game are definitely booming, hm not to mention our taxes are too, so we as gamers have to do something right? We had to develop certain standards. We expected our beloved video games to have revamped graphics, better soundtracks, deeper but still fun gameplay, and well this sudden inclination of augmented story telling is just a really pleasant surprise. And the benefits? Undoubtedly voluminous.
      These improvements reminds us why we made that decision to make thiner our wad of cash, and why the load in our pocket seem a little (just a little-money doesn't really weigh much ) lighter. In other words, it's worth our money. Secondly, video game companies' effort to make their characters more realistic and relatable in a well applauded effort, a great great move to make. Gamers are humans, and we like to indulge in our oh so fun fantasies of adventure, and we are naturally gregarious beings. We LOVE socializing. (Whoever doesn't are just wounded or something-and we should help them, because come to think of it mass shootings and suicides aren't something to be taken lightly.) So having this intuitive grasp of communicating with a fellow human being, it is only normal that we'd likely to be more hooked on to something that we can relate to.
     And of course last but not least, we learn valuable lessons from these stories. I mean sure, it's not like there'll be like, a zombie apocalypse any time soon right?
     You know, you can go ahead and laugh at my silliness to be moved by FICTION. It's fiction, dammit. But you know what, I think it's the adult's mind that has a greater need of fantasy than that of a child. Plus, everyone knows that every fantasy has elements of real life in it.
     Especially in these times, when the economy is hardly stable, and when sometimes you just kinda can't help questioning why certain people did certain things. Delusional or not, (hopefully not) we can all cling to our own fantasies, so that we'd be able to hold on 'cause we know that it's going to be all right( in the end).

The Tree and It's Leaves: Once upon a time, there was a Tree in my Garden. It wasn't a very big, special or noticeable tree. It wasn't the best tree, but it was all right :) and it was my favorite. It was just right for me, not too big, not too small, but providing ample shade.

Tree loved it's leaves very much. the Leaves were like It's children. When autumn approached, the Tree sadly said to It's Leaves " I'm so sorry to part with you dear ones, but I'm afraid it's expedient, or else I shall very likely die. (This is true. A tree sheds it's leaves for a reason. If it does not shed it's leaves, the tree will dry up as during photosynthesis, trees "sweat" through it's leaves. To prevent bring dried up during winter, the leaves are shed.)

Okay so the exams are finally over! Admittedly, I flunked it big this time. Sucks. But it's all right. It's just a school exam. I didn't study after all... Anyway stuff it, school is taking up so much of my time. God knows we only have 24 hours a day. Homeschooling is the key! Got some tutors, planned some schedules, etc.
